I have owned one of these for probably close to 20 years (exact same design/size), and was delighted to discover they were still available when I started shopping for an extra can for recycle items. The only difference I can see between the two is that the new one has a blue plastic insert, while the insert in the old one is black and has a bit more of a "grippy" hole near the top in which you stuff the top of the trash bag to keep it secure in the can. I now have them both sitting side-by-side, one for trash and the other for recyclables, and it's pretty much impossible to tell the difference between the two from the outside. The fact that we have owned our first one for as long as we have says a lot about the quality of these cans. They look and work great!

Nice quality. Easy and quiet to open and close.

This is a nice trash can. The foot pedal is small and doesn't stick out so far. Surprise....it came with some garbage bags...a nice surprise. The lid closes quietly....another plus.

Large but not intrusive of space. Great design and appearance.This is a well made trash can and easy to use in all ways from opening, removing bags and placing new bags.This doesn’t have motion detection or a battery, all manual.We had our Simple Human can we just replaced for 16 years and it only had one small dent, still using in garage, but this one seems even better!

Beautifully crafted an upgrade from the old fashioned trash can. I love it.
